Broadway in Chicago presents the Tony Award-winning musical "Wicked," returning to the stage at the Nederlander Theatre. This production, based on Gregory Maguire's novel, reimagines the classic "Oz" tale by focusing on the backstories of the witches, Glinda and Elphaba. The musical features witty dialogue and memorable songs by Stephen Schwartz, such as “Defying Gravity” and “Popular.” The performances of Jennafer Newberry (Glinda) and Lissa deGuzman (Elphaba) highlight their characters' evolving friendship, with Jordan Litz playing the charming love interest, Fiyero. The colorful costumes and lively ensemble enhance the experience. "Wicked" is an engaging show suitable for both new audiences and longtime fans. Performances run at various times throughout the week, and the show lasts two hours and fifty minutes, including an intermission. Photography is by Joan Marcus.
